Hudson In Concert recap

On Saturday I marveled as the town of Hudson turned out and came together.

An incredible team of staff and volunteers brought together

food vendors, drum circle, full orchestra, soloists, dancers,

polyrhythmic mantra choir, Ukrainian band and community choir

for a seamless evening enjoyed and appreciated by audience and participants alike.

Just before the finale, Operations Director Danette Gorman took us back in time to

August 28th, 1963.

On that day Founder and Artistic Director Gwen Gould was

taking part in the March on Washington.

Gathered with others at the Lincoln Memorial,

Gwen heard Martin Luther King, Jr. deliver a speech: "I Have a Dream."

These words in particular resonated, and have guided her ever since -

With this faith we will be able to

transform the jangling discords of our nation

into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood.
