Ukrainian Music Initiative has crafted a unique concert program for its
first collaboration with Common Man for Ukraine.
An unusual selection of performers
- two pianists and vocalist -
allows for a satisfying exploration of compositional output for piano along with an intriguing sampling of opera and song.
Nine Ukrainian composers are featured
beginning with Dmytro Bortniansky, a contemporary of Mozart's.
Solo and four hand piano pieces
showcase the full expressive capabilities of the instrument.
Settings of texts in Ukrainian, French and German
celebrate the lyricism of poetic articulation.
The performers will introduce the works,
providing historical, cultural and personal context.
Expect an evening of beautiful music encompassing
many moods and styles.
