In the Blue of the Sky Thank You + Recap

Monumental thanks to all who contributed to In the Blue of the Sky!

To the audience, volunteers, donors and sponsors

who joined Ukrainian Music Initiative and Common Man for Ukraine

in enjoying the live performance of Ukrainian classical music and

fundraising to support the children of Ukraine.

With donations still coming in,

we are approaching our goal of collecting the $40,000 needed to

allow Common Man for Ukraine to host

35 children who have lost immediate family members to the war at a

3 week trauma counseling retreat in Poland.

Scroll on for a recap from Lisa Mure,

one of the four phenomenal founders of Common Man for Ukraine.

It goes without saying that we could not be more grateful

for all of the hard work, effort, time, thought, care, planning,

and yes, even joy,

that went into Friday night's Ukrainian Music Initiative performance and community reception.

Everyone's unique gifts came together in a beautiful evening to support Ukraine's music, children, vulnerable families, and widows of war.

There was such power generated when

so many of the community came together to hear the

stunning, moving, joyful Ukrainian classical music that

Rita, Vira, and Pavlo performed and

to channel that power and that togetherness into

supporting people who are suffering.

And in the process, we have made

new friendships that will continue to bring us

joy and to bring support and resources to Ukraine.

Thank you all so much for not only what you did and what you do,

but who you are.

I think there's an uplifting of humanity when

so many people do so much good together.

We are so blessed that there are such good people and

such good-ness coming together all over the world--

and certainly in Lexington, Massachusetts--

in support of peace, justice, and healing in Ukraine.

Peace, Dyakuyu and Slava Ukraini 🙏 💙 💛
