Ukrainian Music Initiative's second program

celebrates two centuries of musical dialogue and cultural exchange

between Ukrainian composers and their counterparts further west.

The music of this all-new concert will surprise, move and entrance.

Join Ukrainian Music Initiative for a selection of works by Zoltan Almashi,

Theodore Akimenko, Dmytro Bortniansky, Sergei Bortkiewicz,

Vladimir Dyck, Bohuslav Martinů, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Stefania Turkewich

along with the stories behind the compositions.

Rita writes:

I'm particularly honored to perform

Deuxième légende hébraïque

for piano and cello by Vladimir Dyck,

a Ukrainian Jewish composer whose

life and voice were cut short in Auschwitz.

As someone who shares that Ukrainian Jewish heritage,

I feel a profound connection to this piece.

Performing it allows us to honor his voice.
