Meet Hailey Jiang,

breaking ground as the first ever Vira + Friends intern.

Hailey will be working with us while closing out her time at

Buckingham Browne & Nichols High School.

One of Hailey's assignments is to share her love of music with us

in a regular feature called Hailey's Corner.

My name is Hailey Jiang, and I’m a student at BB&N.

I’m so excited to be working with

Vira + Friends over the next 8 weeks for my Senior Spring Project!

For a decade of my life

I played the violin in school orchestras and private lessons.

I loved gliding my bow across the strings,

feeling the vibrations in my chest, and

the pride of finally mastering a difficult piece.

I was interested in working with Vira + Friends because of

my history with classical music and my interest in nonprofit work.

I feel strongly about uplifting minority voices, especially in

fields such as classical music that may be harder to break into.

I hope that through my work with Vira + Friends,

more people will grow to appreciate classical music and

find their favorite artists.
