A word from Alex Gamota about the evening of Thursday, October 2nd at Hermit Woods:
I'm writing my audience reaction note the morning after
Vira and David's transcendental show.
I'm on a dock, literally above the beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee
with the autumn leaf colors all around.
Wow! What a night!
If you have seen Vira and David perform before, you know how special it is.
For 90 minutes, the world's cares disappear and
a positive affirmative community is formed as
Vira's songs and tales take us through
life's rich, tender, and sometimes, downright raunchy emotions.
The Loft @ Hermit Woods is the kind of venue that
takes such an intimate cabaret to at least 12!
The farm-to-table food, award winning wine, and
people - staff and last night's near sell-out appreciative audience.
While audience interaction and participation is
a hallmark of all of their shows,
I haven't heard as many people sing and/or hum along as last night.
I counted at least 5 songs that you could hear the audience
join in the musical global kaleidoscope.
By the time Vira sang the first words of her penultimate song,
Judy Collins' "Both Sides Now,"
the audience kicked in for the rest of the ride.
Thank you Vira and David, and
The Loft's Bob Manley, Chris Mega, and Sweets,
for making magic happen!
